Betty Vickers

Betty has spent many decades honing her oil industry skills, working with many independent operators and several Texas oil families. After many years, she remains fascinated by the oil business, which changes like the Texas weather (She claims she will quit the first time she has a dull day).

Betty is a native Dallasite who strayed to Corpus Christi for her young years and to the University of Texas to study English and Journalism. She loves books, travel, and gardening, particularly the history and the beauty of old, old roses. She volunteers with the Heritage Rose District of New York City, a historical preservation and gardening project that engages the youth of Harlem, providing them with a tangible link to their history and an opportunity to dig in the dirt.
